Home Birding Montreal
Wildlife Around Montreal (Birding Montreal)

In earlier incarnations of the site, this section was called - BIRDING MONTREAL

With the exception of the well-known and quite excellent local guide by Pierre Bannon (Birdfinding in the Montreal Area - published 1991, there is a dearth of organised and up to date information about reliable places to go birding or to see other wildlife, flowers etc in the Montreal region ... this is an ongoing attempt to remedy this deficiency.

Here, we will try to give useful information and suggestions about some of the many places within reasonable reach of Montreal that (we think) offer good opportunities for wildlife watching, and birding in particular. This is a very large area and so it has been divided up geographically into four smaller regions which you can access using the links in the bar to the LEFT (click on them - they expand to name the sites in each area) ... and the small map below shows you the geographical divisions.

For each site you will  be able to find essential information, photographs and interactive maps and satellite images of the various sites. The amount of information will vary and will be added to over time but at the very least you will get a map.  If you have information to add please send an This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and we will update this site within a few days - the important thing is to keep the facility current and responsive.

One very useful feature is that on each page you will find near the top right three small and rather handy icons that allow you to print the information on the page, email a link to a friend or make a PDF file for your records.

Please note ... not every map-link is active yet, it's a work in progress but be assured that they will be all working by winter 2009.  This is a major task.
