The park is on the Montreal's north shore in the West Island. The park has 12km of hiking trails, along with 8km of bike paths. There are extensive cycling trails and it is not as crowded as some and with nice rolling terrain. You can launch a canoe of kayak on the river from the parks shores in the eastern sector. In the winter there are almost 25km of cross country ski trails suitable for novices and beyond. The trail system moves through a mix of forest, field, wetlands and travels along a stretch of the rivers shoreline. Birding is mixed and some rarities are seen most years. Species are numerous because of the mixture of river and lake shore plus woodland and dense shrubbery.
